Wollaton Hall is an unique example of an Elizabethan house in Nottingham, in central England. Like a suburban villa near Florence, the hall is situated on top of a hill with view relationships to the city and country side.

The work of the park and gardens of Wollaton Hall was undertaken in 2010 and 2011. It had three aims. First, a historical analysis of the site’s development through 500 years. Second, the preparation of a conservation and management plan for the future. Third, to explore and develop a methodology with a special focus on drawings and diagrams, for historic designed landscapes and gardens.
